This map of Zambia aims to show the story of China’s involvement in the Copper Belt Region. I have used pentagons to show all the mines owned by one Chinese company called ZCCM Investment Holdings Plc. It owns most of the old and new mines in the copper belt area. The red dots are other mines owned by international companies that are still very important to the copper story in Zambia. The lines in the map are all the forms of transport, from the famous railway line to all the roads in the country. Last but not least, the yellow polygons are the trade and economic zones in the country while the dotted line polygon maps out the area of conflict between the Chinese and the Zambian government due to labor and human rights violations.
