Cotton had humble beginnings in both India and Lancashire. However, over time, the U.K wanted more cotton, and in order to produce more, they had to find places with fertile soil to cultivate cotton. For production and exportation, the primary locations became India and China. It was because of this commodity that both India and China were introduced to the world economy in which they have both become labour production and exportation superpowers, thus joining the U.K in what we now know as the cotton triangle.
