In the 1960s, Japanese animation began to expand to overseas markets. After nearly half a century of penetration, Japanese animation has occupied a large share of the world market and has become a veritable animation power par with the United States. This strong cultural output has brought a certain impact on the animation and related industries in Europe, America, and Asia, and has also affected the animation producers and audiences in various countries. These shocks and impacts have both positive and negative aspects, and have both advantages and disadvantages, which cannot be generalized.

As a neighboring country with Japan, the development of China’s animation industry is inevitably affected by the Japanese animation industry. At the same time, as a big country with a population of over one billion people, China has huge market space and consumption potential. In addition, the development of domestic original animation is relatively lagging behind. The domestic supply of animation alone cannot solve the market supply and demand relationship, and this became the opportunity for Japanese anime to export its culture to China and to penetrate the anime market in China.
