JSDF personnel have been deployed overseas to countries like the Philippines, where they train in military exercises in conjunction with US and Filipino forces. Japan also manufactures defense equipment that is transferred to the Philippines, and in conjunction Filipino military personnel are trained in Japan. The map indicates military exercises that JSDF and Filipino personnel have participated in together as well as the Philippines\u2019 security concern regions, such as the pirates and Islamic insurgents of the Sulu Sea and Moros Islands.
